( Lapta ) Lapethos, thought to be the capita of n ancient
kingdom, was constructed where today's Lapta is. The first
inhabitants of Lambusa are thought to have moved there in
13th Century BC. The city was conquered by the Phoenicians
in the 8th Century BC, but its most glorious times were
during the Roman and Byzantine Periods. Some f the precious
antiquities found in Lambusa are being displayed at the
Nicosia Museum, but the rest are in the British Museum in
New York, and in the Dumbarton oaks Collection in Washington
DC.
