Where is Kyrenia - North Cyprus, and how far is it from The Hotel Sempati?  

Kyrenia is situated in the north of the island, the prettiest and most unspoilt part of Cyprus. Located south of Turkey, Cyprus is third largest island in the Mediterranean.  Kyrenia is an old harbour town with a beautiful mountain range as its backdrop, surrounded by plains and beaches.  History abounds everywhere from the three great Crusader castles built in the time of Richard the Lionheart to the Roman ruins of Salamis and Belapais Abbey. The Hotel Sempati  is a 10 minute drive west of Kyrenia town.

All flights to Northern Cyprus come via Turkey with a short stop at Antalya, Izmir, Dalaman or Istanbul airport. There is no change of aircraft in Turkey with Cyprus Turkish Airlines. With sheduled Turkish Airlines there is a short stop and change of aircraft. click for flight details

Can we fly to Larnaca airport and stay in North ? Yes you can fly to Larnaca airport and stay in North, there is not any limit or restriction for EU passport holder.

You can pay small deposit and the balance when you arrive in Hotel.

Is there a local transport service to Kyrenia?   There is a mini bus service from the hotel to Kyrenia at a nominal cost (about 50p each way).

Are there any restaurants and beaches nearby?   You will find 5 restaurants within 4-8 minutes walk from the hotel and a nice sandy beach 2 minutes walk away. There is also a mini-market and a bar nearby.

Can I exchange foreign curreny in the hotel ?  Currency and Travellers cheques can be changed in the hotel reception 24 hours a day. The Currency is in North Cyprus New Turkish Lira, There is ATM machines available and also all major credit cards acceptable

Is there room service?   There is a 24 hour room service available for drinks  and up to midnight light snacks can be ordered.

What is the local currency?   The currency is Turkish Lira. You can get cash from ATM machines. It is not advisable to bring to a large amount of Turkish Lira as you get a better rate for pounds sterling. It is advisable to bring Sterling Travellers cheques or cash (sterling, US dollars or marks) to obtain a better rate of exchange.

What is the electricity voltage and how many pin plugs?    Electricity is 240 Volts, 3 pin plugs the same as in the UK.

Is there a laundry service? Yes we  have the laundry service its extra cost, you give morning and ready aftenroon at 16.00 o'clock.

Is Breakfast Turkish or European?  Our Breakfast is Turkish and European (open buffet) English Breakfast can be  served at a small extra charge.

Shopping?    Popular souvenirs include : Copper, silver, bronze and onyx objects. Turkish dolls, merhaum pipes and tavla boards (found in souvenir shops and stalls), jewellery, leather clothes and textiles can be purchased at low prices. Shop opening times are between 8am-1 pm and 3.30 pm. Markets are open mornings only. You can find many kinds of Turkish Cypriot craftworks in many places of the island. Exports of antiquities is illegal.
