North Cyprus Healthcare

The standard and availability of healthcare in Northern Cyprus is very high with a choice of private or state run clinics and hospitals. Wherever you decide to go you will find hospitals, doctors and dentists provide excellent healthcare and one thing you will first notice is how spotless these places are.  On entering any of these buildings foot bags have to be worn to prevent outside germs contaminating them.

You will be able to find all health care practices easily either look in the local papers or ask at the hotel where you are staying.  The main hospitals for urgent medical care can be found in Nicosia (Lefkosa) Girne (Kyrenia) or Farmugusta (Magosa) .

As Northern Cyprus is not part of the EEC you can either pay for treatment at the time or you can take out private medical cover.  The emergency telephone number for an ambulance is 112 or alternatively make your own way to the hospital.

Lastly we must not forget the pharmacies that are scattered across Northern Cyprus who provide an excellent service.  They can provide you with medication that you may have forgot to bring out or run out of.  They have a vast knowledge of how to treat healthcare symptoms and can provide you with information or drugs to make you more comfortable.
